Pizza Power Rankings: Clark University

Despite a plethora of pizza places within a 2 mile radius it's hard to get Clarkies to go 2 blocks to get a pie (and most will still only get it delivered from that distance). That leaves only a handful of choices when ranking the best pizza options that Clark students don't have to go out of their way to get.

1. Brick Oven Pizza

The only thing around Clark that's close to a New York style pizza. It's not perfect. Often the pies here could stand for a bit more time in the oven, but at $5 for a large cheese pizza it's a great value. Located in a seemingly cursed location (it's the 3rd pizza joint in the space in 3 years) Clark students should hope this place sticks around. It might not be as good as Flats, a previous tenant in the space, but it's the best of what's left.

2. Uncle Sam's

Uncle Sam's Pizza walks a strange line between New England Greek style pizza and other thinner styles of pizza. It features a thinner crust to support the sauce cheese and toppings but a thick handle of crust at the end. Also, like many New England pizza places they are heavy handed on the cheese, which can lead to a lot of grease. Still, this place tastes pretty good and will get you your pizza fix cheap at $5 for a large cheese. The pizza of the month deal is also always worth checking out, and if you're squeamish about grease just bring a napkin.

3. Fantastic Pizza

This ranking needs to be prefaced by saying that Danny is like the real life Mr. Fantastic, and that they make a great falafel. The nice thing about Fantastics is that most of the time you're eating it as a Clarkie it's probably free. This is the go to place for clubs and departments to buy pizza for their events. Fantastics is pretty standard New England Greek style pizza. The crust is thick and bready and the cheese can get heavy. Your best bet here is to go with some toppings. The veggie pie is the choice for many when dining here.

4. Domino's

The national ringer in the rankings. Despite its general poor quality I'll admit that sometimes I get a craving for Domino's, especially when it's 2 a.m. and everywhere else is closed. Somehow it always seems to take them 2 hours to deliver (oh cool, it's 4 a.m. I'm asleep and don't want pizza), and they never know where anything around Clark is which is strange considering they are just down the street. They also lose points for their high prices. Two medium pizzas for $8 each on Tuesdays for carry-out only is not a great deal. One large pizza for $20 on Friday night is even worse. Don't give-in to those late night cravings and save your money for a quality pie at Corner Grille another night instead.

Not Rated: The Cafeteria

There's not really any point in comparing cafe pizza to these other places other than to give a shout out to Tony.
